In this picture, you see Lee up the tree having set the spar point for the lift. You can see the wire rope draped over the railing of the bridge, and through the pulley chained to the rock bar sling. A similarly placed spar pulley is about the same distance on this side of the desired ending position of the bridge section. By having them equidistant from the desired endpoint, the load will tend to settle in the general area that we want it to be, without a lot of hauling. (photo by Bill Taggart)
