This photo is looking “northbound” on the AT. Here you can see how the sections had landed. The near one was just alongside it's center support, with one end still hanging on the edge of the pier. The near end (out of the frame) was well away from the support pier it shared with the approach ramp. That approach ramp was also off the pier and had become wracked as it was shifted at one end, while the end in the bank remained largely unmoved. (photo by Bill Taggart)
