This picture shows the key being used to tighten a pin. You can also see how the flanges stacked up for joining. We found that if we put the units being worked with on top of another unit, the flat surface made things a lot easier to align.
At the edges there were "edge blocks", essentially a half-block that gave a finished edge. On this edge, however, we were attaching the brackets for fastening the wire cables that would hold the walkway in place.
